Mike’s playing career spans over 17 years across many levels including AAA hockey and Junior Hockey in Detroit, Michigan. After Junior Hockey, Mike played four years of Division 1 ACHA College Hockey at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, with four ACHA Division 1 national tournament appearances.

Once his college hockey career had ended upon graduation, Mike transitioned to a coaching role, affording him the opportunity of giving back to the sport that brought him success, built his confidence, and established lifelong friendships. Mike has been coaching and developing hockey players for over 24 years. His passion is creating offensive minded defensemen, creating a second layer of offensive attack to the opposing team. Mike’s favorite term is “Compete”. He works hard to instill a high level of compete in all of the teams he is a part of, with the hopes that it becomes a habit that players learn to compete in all facets of life beyond hockey.  Mike takes his coaching responsibilities seriously and knows that hockey not only promotes an active and healthy lifestyle, it also helps young athletes learn how to win graciously as well as how to handle adversity with a positive mindset.
